EXECUTIVE AIEETS. At the first meeting of the newlyelected executive of the Palmerston North branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, over which Air B. J. Jacobs presided, 14 hew members were nominated.. . v : ’■" •" A circular received from headquarters, which suggested au alteration in the method of the distribution of the Canteen Fund, resulted in the executive expressing themselves as being strongly against any change which would mean a further conserving of the fund, the opinion being expressed that such a conservation would be to the detriment of the many -returned soldiers who . arc at present in need of assistance. The delegates to the .annual conference (tile president and Alessrs W. G. Rutherfurd and R. R. Alorton) were instructed to combat any. contrary measures which might be taken to ensure a conservation of the fund. Sub-committees to control unemployment matters, the club socials and finance for the year, were elected.
