CANTERBURY CLUB

SOCIAL EVENING. There was a largo number ol members and their friends present at the Canterbury Club’s monthly social and dance-on Saturday evening. In the absence of the president (Mr C. Louisson) a welcome to those present was extended by Mr C. Aikman, a vicepresident. The time was spent in dancing interspersed with items by the pupils of Miss June Scott—a tap dance by Dorothy Blinkhorn, an Irish reel by Beryl Anderson, Dorothy Wills, Leah Heath and Barbara McLean, a skipping dance by Valerie Henderson, and a tap dance by a ballet comprising Leah Heath, Barbara Wills, Dorothy Simpson, Betty Heath, Lindsay Perrin, Dorothy Jones and Joan McLean. As well as rendering a pianoforte duet, Mr and Mrs Prince gave an accordion and saxophone number. Mr L. Woods’s two songs were much appreciated, while a demonstration of thought transmission by Messrs Jeromson and Hutchinson brought well merited applause. Dance music was supplied by Mr and Mrs J. Martin. Supper was served by the ladies’ committee.
