NEW TOWN HOUSE.
GIFT TO MR BALDWIN.’ SON-IN-LAW’S GENEROSITY. Mr Oliver Baldwin, the Prime Minisister’s son, has revealed that his father’s new house in Eaton Square, London, is “a’ gift to him from a friend, which will enable him to keep his large library in London.” It is understood that the house is the gift of the Premier’s son-in-law, Captain the Hon. Arthur J. P. Howard, wealthy company director and brother of Lord Strathcona. Captain Howard inherited a large part of the fortune of his mother, the late Lady Strathcona, who died eleven years ago. Mer estate, never disclosed, was estimated to have totalled between £5,000,00 and £6,000,000. _ He is a. Scots Guardsman, and was three times wounded in,the Great War. He married the Premier s eldest daughter Lorna in 1922. They have four children. Mr and Mrs Baldwin have already taken formal possession of their new town house. The house has ten bedrooms and is 120 years old, but is well equipped with bathrooms. Mr Baldwin Iras a large library of the classics, which he reads extensively, but be is also a great collector of detective thrillers.
