DAMAGES AWARDED.
CLAIAI AT NAPIER. NAPIER, Feb. 23. Damages amounting to £1166 gg lid were awarded plaintiff in the Supreme Court to-day by the jury chosen to return a verdict in the motor collision case in which Roy Fissenden, of Waipa.wa, motor mechanic, claimed £2566 14s from AI. H. Oram, solicitor, of Palmerston North, for injuries allegedly received in a collision with a car driven by defendant. Mr Justice Ostler entered judgment for plaintiff for the amount and granted an application to have the time in which defendant can apply for a rehearing, extended from four to 14 days. When the jury returned after a retirement of 3 "hours 45 minutes, His Honour intimated that the amount was such as lie would have arrived at had the decision rested with him.
