MILK FOR SCHOOLS.
SCHEAIE IN CHRISTCHURCH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. .23. A contract for the supply of milk to children attending schools in and near the city has been let by the Government to United Dairies Ltd., Christchurch, and arrangements are being made by the Alayor (Air J. W. Beanland) to set up a committee to cooperate with the company in supervising the supply. Seventy-two schools will be served and the daily delivery will bo 1200 gallons. The milk will be pasteurised and each child will be given a half-pint bottle and straw to drink through. No charge will be made to parents. The service will begin on Alarch 1.
