STORMS IN AMERICA.
GREAT HAVOC WROUGHT. NEW YORK, Feb. 22. A message from Charlotte (North Carolina) says that wind storms, gales, and tornadoes swept sections of the Caiolinas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Ohio, and Missouri, breaking power lines, unroofing houses, levelling trees, and smashing windows. The damage will run into many thousands of dollars. Scores were injured, but none was killed.
The Red Cross is providing emergency housing for 500 in one small Louisiana town alone.
