A LONG SWIM.
S AIILES IN 4 HOURS. Enclosed in a wire not which was towed behind a launch, AVarren Eggins on November 28 swam eight miles irom Gosford to AA’oy AA’oy and back in four hours. The need for the net was shown when a large shark w r as encountered. The net, however, proved no protection against bluebottles and blubbers which stung the swimmer, making it necessary to stop the launch twice. In Alarch last Eggins, who is heavyweight wrestling champion of the North and North-AA’est, swam from 'AA’oy AVoy to Gosford in three and a-half hours.
