STUDY IN RESTRAINT.

The first wisp of summer in the air —faded and forgotten are the Hovers of spring. Our frocks now have Eastern, splendour, rich strong clours, floating chiffons draping slender hgures; slim sheer street suits. What a. gorgeous summer it is going to be, writes an observer. Nevqr have colours been so riotously gay or materials so ridiculously flimsy- Drape yourself in henna ninon, dash an orange scarf round your w aist; you have distinction, perfect distinction it vour line is right. There’s perfect control in the new lastretch materials —fine fibres of rubber woven through lustrous satins, dainty nets, and practical batistes. All those pampered bulges are quietly smoothed away under the influence of the modern controlette, and do you remember those embarrassing suspender humps? They, too, have been removed; invisible, flat, thin, and extra strong suspenders replace them.
