MRS FREER’S RETURN.

INTERVIEW AT WELLINGTON. GLAD TO BE BACK. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 7. Slim and neatly dressed in nigger brown, with a pale green silk scarf around her neck, Mrs M. M. Freer seemed far from being downhearted when seen on her arrival from Sydney to-day. She smiled quite a lot and talked with several ot the passengers, but bad little to say to tlie Press representatives. When first spoken to she said she had nothing to say, adding: 1 am tired of you people. With that she was escorted down the stairs by another woman, whose approach was accompanied with the advjee, “Not a word, Mabel! Not a word, honey!” • This woman gave information that Mrs Freer had no immediate plan 6, but would be'staying in Wellington for a while, and Mrs Freer smilingly said, looking up the stairway: I might fly over to Australia. Mrs Freer’s friend appears on the passenger list as Mrs A. H. Pura, and when she detached herself from Mrs Freer for a moment she announced herself as Madame Pura, of the Latin Cafe, Sydney. On the deck afterwards Mrs Freer had more to say. She said she was gla.d to be back in New Zealand and glad that at least one Government knew the meaning of British justice.

According to passengers, on the way across she attended Church and generally entered into shipboard activities, dancing and playing deck games. She came down the gangway alone. Probably few knew her; photographers and movie cameras worked quickly. Mrs Freer took in the scene quickly, smiled, and waved her lia.nd.
