THE KING’S DECISION
ABDICATION REPORTED LIKELY SECRET ADVICE AT CANBERRA (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received December 5, 2.31 p.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 5. The Sun’s Canberra correspondent says that King Edward’s abdication is likely to be announced on Monday according to secret information received to-day by the Commonwealth Government from Mr Stanley Baldwin. A dramatic development in Canberra following this information was the decision urgently to summon the Federal Parliament to meet on Wednesday to pass the Statute of Westminster.
