MANAWATU CENTRE.

VISIT TO W AIR A RAP A. Amidst glorious sunshine, 64 bowlers from the Manawatu Centre visited the Wairarapa on Saturday. Thirtytwo of the number jffayed a game in the morning at Carterton and 32 played on the Masterton green. In both places the visitors were welcomed by the presidents of each club, and very enjoyable games were played. In tho afternoon a centre match of 18 rinks was played on the Masterton greens. The president of tho Wairara.pa Centre (Mr H. Jenkins), in a very happy speech, welcomed the visitors. He said he realised that a visit was ' due to Manawatu and that it would be carried out this year. He presented tho Manawatu president (Mr J. A. Nash) and secretary (Mr A. F. Wimsett) with Wairarapa Centre badges and then three cheers were heartily given for the Manawatu bowlers.

Mr Nash, president of the Manawatu Centre, responded on behalf of the visitors and assured the Wairarapa Centre that- the Manawatu Centre would be delighted to have a visit from them. He also thanked the clubs and the centre for the hospitality that had been showered upon the visitors during the day. After dealing with the game of bowls and the pleasure it gave to young and old, Mr Nash called upon the Manawatu bowlers to give cheers for the Wairarape Centre. Manawatu then gave one of their bowling chanties, which included local “hits.” Wairarapa won the match by 47 points. The following is a list of the games, the Wairarapa skips being mentioned first:
