Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Oct. 6. A labourer, Ignatius Patrick Gorniick, aged 45, appeared for sentence in the Police Court this morning on the charge of stealing two books valued at IDs, the property of Arthur Kingi, on September 23. He was also charged with failing to comply with the terms and conditions of his release on probation at Wellington on June 20. . The police said that C'ormiok stolcthe books from the room which he had shared with a missionary.

Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., imposed a sentence of three months’ imprisonment on tlie theft charge and convicted and discharged accused on the second charge.
