TAXIS REMOVED.
INCIDENT AT INVERCARGILL.
Per Press Association
INVERCARGILL, Oct. 4. Mystery surrounds the removal of two taxis from tlie Red Band rink in Dee Street about 4.30 this morning. AVhile two drivers on late shift slept soundly in the office, some persons took charge of one of the taxis and drove quietlv away. It is known that about that hour a Red Band taxi crashed into a hedge in Duke Street and a man and a woman were seen to leave it. Later the second taxi was removed from the rink. At least, that is what one of the drivers believes, as he discovered it backed into the kerb with all the lights on not far from the rink. The first car had also l>een returned damaged. The police theory is that revellers commandeered the first car and after the accident in Duke Street coolly returned to the rink and removed the second car in order to tow the first one.
