Water divining methods wore adopted, to-day, by Or W. B. Tennentto support a contention submitted by him that the bores now being sunk at the artesian wells in V ogel Street aro wronglv placed. The occasion was a visit of inspection by the Mayor and several councillors. Cr Tennent showed in no uncertain manner tiiat lie has the water diviner’s powers. With a V-shaped twig he walked slowly over the ground and as soon as he struck a flow of water tho twig shot up quickly, to fall suddenly when lie come to tho aiext flow. Later the Mayor and other councillors tried to divine water, some being successful. . Cr Tennent related an experience he had had at a picnic. A woman lost a gold ring and, working on the same principles as with water divining, lie restored the ring to the owner. It is expected that a report will be made to the City Council oil the inspection.
