FARMERS HAPPY.
GOOD WHEAT PRICES OFFEU. CONDITIONS IN CANADA. "The prices for wheat are making the formers who have wheat very happy, but there was a short crop this year —the shortest for many years —owing to drought conditions in certain provinces," said Mr T. Frank Matthews, of Toronto, who is one of the two Canadian delegates to the Chamber of Commerce Congress, when at Auckland. Mr Matthews said that the prospects for the wheat crop last spring were wonder ful, and the grain had had a good start. Unfortunately, however, drought had affected the three western States of Manitoba, Sasketchcwan, and Alberta. Generally speaking, conditions in Canada were very much improved. There were good crops in the other provinces, and the mining industry had improved particularly.
