ROYAL SHOW.
PROPOSAL FOR HAMILTON. PROBABLE LOSS OF £331. HAAHLTON, July 13. A conference of delegates representing the agricultural and pastoral associations of the Waikato, held in Hamilton, discussed preliminary plans for the holding of the Royal Agricultural Show at Hamilton in 1938. It was stated that of the last four Royal Shows held in New Zealand two had shown a profit and two had shown a loss. An estimate of the receipts and expenditure of a Royal Show held in Hamilton showed a probable loss of £334. In addition, the Waikato Association would have to spend £I2OO on temporary and permanent buildings. Defences expressed the opinion that they should bo informed as soon as possible whether the show would be allocated lo Hamilton, and whether the allocation would bo accepted. It was stated that a special committeo of the AVaikato Association had been appointed to investigate wa)s and means, and until tho report of that committee had been received little further could be done. It was decided to open a special Royal Show account and to ask those associations in the AVaikato not represented at the meeting to assist the central executive in collecting donations.
