MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
At the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Afr J. L. Stout, S.AI., Joseph Boucher was charged with a breach of the Second-Hand Dealers Act itt that he failed to retain a cycle for a month before altering it. Defendant pleaded guilty under protest.
Detective Barling stated that, on June S, defendant took the cycle as part-payment oil another cycle, which he sold. Constable Chapman called the next day and found it had been dismantled. Defendant was advised that this was a breach of the Act. When Constable Chapman called again it was found that further work had been done. Defendant said the cycle had a broken bar and had been traded in at a value of 10s. Defendant was fined £l, with 10s costs, and warned that if he committed another breach he would have his dealer’s license cancelled or endorsed.
