HON. R. SEMPLE’S VIEWS. AUCKLAND. Jnh- 12. The necessity for perpetuating the British Monarchy in (he interests of democracy was emphasised by the Minister of Public Works (Hon. R. Semple), when addressing a farewell luncheon gathering arranged by the Auckland 'Travel Club in honour of Miami Airs AY. J. Jordan. “J. think it should be everyone’s aim,” said Air Semple, “to perpetuate democracy and the Atonarchy. since the combination of those elements ban ensured the progress of the British Empire, while other countries are coming under dictatorships. It should be ensured that the King of England shall rule lor rail time rather than that any other form of Government involving a dictatorship, whether from the bottom or the top. should emerge.”
