Clements broke the Royal Sydney course record with 74, which is one under the scratch score for the course. COTTON BEATEN. FRENCH OPEN TITLE. Received July 3, 10.20 a.m. PARIS, July 2. Dallemagne beat Cotton by 139 to 140 in the French replay in the open golf championship. Cotton just missed a 10-yard putt at the last hole for a tie. He was very tired, but refused to retire.
