'PLANE OVERDUE.

ON SURVEY FLIGHT. BRISBANE, July 2. Fears are held for the safety of a pilot, Mr T. H. McDonald, whose ’plane is overdue at Thursday Island from Cairns. McDonald contemplated a regular air service between Northern Queensland and Torres Strait. He left Cairns yesterday to conduct an aerial survey and should have reached his destination at sunset. ANXIETY DISPELLED. FLIGHT INTERRUPTED. Received July 3, 10.20 a.m. BRISBANE, July 3. The anxiety for the safety of Pilot McDonald was dispelled with the news of his arrival at Thursday Island. It appears that two American passengers who are studying the natives of the Torres Strait area -wished to land at the mission stations en route. Accordingly, stops were made at the Cape Bedford and Lockhart River Missions, where they stayed the night.
