LIGHT OF ROME.
ADDRESS TO ABYSSINIANS. Received June 26, 1.10 p.m. ADDIS ABABA, Juno 25. Marshal Graziani, seated on a raised dais and surrounded by officers, with a huge Italian flag in the background, in the hall in which the Negus field Court received the submission of three chieftains who, to the strains o,f the Italian National Anthem, gave the Fascist salute. Marshal Graziani said that at the Court of- the Negus men had had to bend their backs and kiss the ground before speaking to the ruler. Italy did not ask such humiliation and gave them the gesture of arms raised to the sun. “This is the civilisation of Rome. Yesterday you were sheep; to-day you are men. The light of God has descended upon you; the light of Rome has descended. Open your eyes, and above all your hearts, to it,” Marshal Graziani declared.
