YACHT BRITANNIA.
TO BE SUNK IN JULY. Received June 26, 9.10 a.m. LONDON, June 25. It is revealed that suggestions that tho Royal yacht Britannia be used for charitable and instructional purposes were rejected because the late King George desired the sinking of the vessel, which will be carried out on July 8 without ceremony. Sir Philip Hunloke, who has steered her in every race except one, and the veteran, Captain Turner, will he among the half-dozen aboard.
Fewer than 200 attended the sale of the yacht’s contents. Much of the equipment had already been sent to tlie late King George’s yachting friends and institutions throughout the Empire. The sale realised £IOSO.
