BUTTER CHAMPIONSHIP.
ALTERATION TO RULE. FACTORY MANAGERS’ VIEW. Proposals for a change in the rule governing entries for the iS\ ipetit ion tor the butter championship of New Zealand were advanced at the annual meeting, last evening, of the New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers’ Association, by Mr W. S. Death (Awahuri). Mr Death said he wished to object to the rule governing the championship class for butter as sot down for the National Dairy Show. He pointed out that the rule stipulated that any butter-maker who had won the championship twice in succession or three times at intervals was debarred from taking further- part in the annual competitions. That prevented him from ever winning the championship for his company again, hut what if he changed to another factory? He was barred also from winning thee liampionship for that company. The competition should he an open one. It was hold “under t he auspices of the New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers’ Association.” Therefore it was for the association to say if the rule should be altered. The speaker moved that the competition be an open one.
The motion was carried, without dissent.
