RONGOTEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) RONGOTEA, June 13. The Anglican Church held another of its forthnightly euchre parties on Friday evening and tho gathering was very sociable. The winners were; Ladies, Mrs Eades 1, Mrs R. Scott 2; Men, Mr 0. Gardner 1.
The local Rugby juniors played Sanson on tho Rongotea ground on Saturday and in agamo that proved very interesting the former were the winners by the narrow margin of 4 po'nls to 3. Rongotea’s score came from awell-dirccted field goal kicked by Galyer, in tho first half. Sanson’s points were gained in the second half with an unconverted try. Sanscti, who are tho leaders in the junior competition, have had their colours lowered on two occasions by Rongotea, who have been narrowly defeated ttt several occasions, but with a few games still to bo played Rongotea should bo in the running for championship honours. Tho Rongotea seniors played S-anson seniors at Sfiison, and after the hardest game of the season were the winners by 12 points to 9, Gust scoring two tries and Berryman two for Rongotea. For Snnsrn, Tattle, Marsh and YV. Sanson scored tries. Mr Allan Yarrall, of Gisborne, is a visitor to Rongotea.
