PEDESTRIAN’S DEATH.
SEQUEL TO COLLISION. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Alay IS. AHs Helen Adam, aged 56, died in the Christchurch Hospital last evening following an accident in Ferry Road, when she was struck by a motor cycle and sustained severe bead injuries and a compound fracture ,of the right leg. The rider of the motor cycle, J. Raistrick, of 60 Antigua Street, received head injuries, which necessitated an operation, and his condition is serious. L. AVeliner, of 10 Disraeli Street, who was riding oil the pillion, also had to be operated upon for severe head injuries, but his condition was stated to be not so serious as that of Raistrick. Airs Adam was crossing Ferrv Road near the intersection with Grafton Street at alwmt 5.50 p.m. She had almost reached the pavement when she was struck by the motor cycle, which was going toward the city. Wehner was thrown toward the footpath, hitting a lamp post. The condition of both the injured men was reported this morning to be slightly improved.
