VALUABLE CURE
TREATMENT OF SCIATICA. DOCTOR’S DISCOVERY. RELIEF IN 24 HOURS. r (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received May 15, 9.10 a.m. LONDON, May 14. The Sun-Herald Service says that sciatica can now be cured overnight by inexpensive treatment, according to Dr. Gerald Slot, in an address to the International Congress of Physical Medicine. Dr. Slot says that 23 out of 24 cases have been successfully treated at the Royal Waterloo Hospital. The treatment was painless and had no risks. The diagnosis includes an X-ray examination, after which the patient is injected with evipan anaestiietic and a sterile saline containing I per cent, of noyoeaine, followed by manipulation in -which the spine is extended and the legs and thighs fully flexed alternately, with the pelvis fixed, while the patient is lying down. Relief follows within 24 hours. A few cases required a second injection, at a three months' interval, before giving final relief. Dr. Slot was born at Johannesburg and is a leading authority on rheumatism.
