MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The executive of the Manawatu and West Coast Dairy Companies' Association met yesterday. Mr S. A. Broadbelt presiding. Others present were Messrs C. G. C. Dernier, J. Boyce, S. E. Algar, J. Devine, 11. Craig and J. R. AThyte. Mr Boyce was elected chairman of the cheese committee. A considerable discusion took place on the zoning of butter factory cream collection and the need for advice as to whether a premium would be paid for cheese under guaranteed prices, and, if a premium were paid, what it would be. The New Zealand Producers' Co-opera-tive Markelinn; Association's weekly cabled market report from Lfndon, dated April 21, is as follows:—The butter market has improved on account of heavy buying dur:ng early part of the week. New Zealand, 85s to 87s: Danish, 100 s. Cheese stcadv. New Zealand, white and coloured, 53s to 53s 6d. Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd.. have received from London the follow'ng cabled advico, dated April 21: —New Zealand butter, 87s: market firm. New Zealand cheese-, 53s 6d: market ouiet but steady. W. Wed del and Co.. Ltd., report dated London. April 21 :—Butter market firm. Danish, 102 s: New Zealand, finest, 87s: Kangaroo, finest, 86s. Cheese market quiet: New Zealand, white and coloured, 53s 6d. TIMARU WOOL SALE. COMPETITION FOR GOOD LINES. Per Press Association. TIMARU. April 22. The third and final wool sale of the season was held this afternoon, when a catalogue comprising 2397 bales was submitted. The bench of buyers was only half its usual size. At no stage of the sale was bidding animated, but competition was good for better-class wools at prices which were on a par with recent Christchurch sales. Low-grade pieces and fleeces were more or less neglected, and prices showed a drop of a penny on the last Timaru sale. The per ceritage of passings was fairly high. COLOMBO TEA MARKET. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 22. The following is the cabled report on the Colombo tea auction of April 21 : At the auction of four m'llion pounds, there was a good demand, and common teas were firmer, while medium and fine lots were dearer generally, the quality of offerings being plain. Next week's sale has been catalogued for million pounds.
