MARTON, April 21

Mr and Mrs R. Rose, of Marton, M’ho, are celebrating their silver ivedding, ivere the guests at a very enjoyable party given by their children, Misses Maureen and Norma, and | Messrs C. and D. Rose. Mr and Mrs' Rose hailed originally from the West Coast, and have only been in Marton a short time. There wore over 100 guests present and the evening was spent in games and dancing. Mr A. 0. Scott referred to the genial and hospitable nature of Mr and Mrs Rose which had won for them many true friends. He hoped that when they celebrated their golden wedding they would be as happy and contended as now. Mr Broughton, on behalf of the railway staff of which Mr Rose is \ foreman, asked the guests to accept a silver nut dish and cracker as a token of the esteem in which they are held by the staff. Mr Rose feelingly, returned thanks and stated that the, evening would be one of the memorable events of their life.

The Rangitikei Hunt held a run on Saturday, the hounds finding the scent several times and the hares providing a good chase. Those following were: —Deputy-Masters F. McLean on Rocket, .P. W.
