RAILWAY TRAFFIC
EASTER INCREASE. There has been a considerable increase in the bookings at the Palmerston North railway station for the Easter period. Although actual figures are not yet available, it is expected that the amount of traffic will be in excess of that dealt with during the corresponding period of last year. The ordinary express to Aucldand, which passed through Palmerston North at 6 o’clock on Thursday evening, was fully booked, as is the Limited express to Auckland. The special night train, passing through this city shortly before midnight, carried a capacity load. The bookings on the trains from Auckland to Wellington are equally heavy.
