RIDE TO SYDNEY.
ATTEMPT TERMINATED. Received April' 6, 10.25 a.m. SYDNEY, April 6. Percy Lennon, astride Redlock, gave up the attempt to beat the Melbourne to Sydney record. Lennon rode the horse to Albuty, then took it by train most of the way to Sydney, where lie arrived at the week-end. The record for the horseback journey of 560 miles from Melbourne to Sydney is thirteen days. Attempting to break this old record, Percy Lennon, aged 16, set out on March 19 for Sydney astride Redlock, the racehorse, which was involved in the remarkable “ring in” case in South Australia in 1934, incurring life disqualification.
