CARNARVON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) CARNARVON, March 16. At the annual meeting of the Carnarvon Women’s Institute the president (Mis Will) presided over a good attendance of members. Tho various reports were read and favourably commented upon. It was decided that each meinbor should contribute 2d towards the expenses of the delegate to Washington. It was further decided to buy cups and saucers for the institute, the purchases to bo left to Mrs Nelson Scott. No election was required for the committee, the following being elected: —President, Mrs Will (unopposed); vice-presidents, Mrs Gibbons and Mrs P. Scott; committee, Mrs Sandercock, Mrs J. Warren, Aliases W. Clare, N. Clare. N. Scott, E. Ayres, and M. Quinlan; secretary, Miss W. Clare; treasurer, Miss N. Clare; competition stewards, Aliases I. Scott, and K. Alaxwell. In the future all members will compete in the one class. A trophy will be given each month, and at the end of the year a points prize will be available. Winners of tho points prizes for last year were: —Seniors, Miss W. Clare; juniors, Alisa E. Ayres. Alcsdamos Gibbons and P. Scott were appointed delegates for the year. Two new members, Mrs Barnett and Aliss E. Hansen, were welcomed by Airs Will. An observation lest was won by Airs W. Scott, Mrs R. Wood being second. The competition for next month will bo for six jam tarts, and Mrs Nelson Scott will give a demonstration of cellophane belt making. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Alisscs W. Clare, I. Scott, and W. Scott. Carnarvon and Kopane tennis teams met at Carnarvon on Saturday, Kopane winning by 13 sets to 9 and 110 games to 90.
