Ten countries, including Britain, will be represented in the Olympic Games sailing championships at Kiel, Germany, between August 4 and 14. Police at Buffalo, New York, are blushing with shame because someone has paid a court fine with a counterfeit five-dollar note. The deception was not noticed until after the note had been passed to the bank, who returned it marked “counterfeit.” No one can remember who paid in the note, so it has been turned over to the Secret Service office. And it was not even a good copy.
