MILSON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) MILSON, Sept. 26. A very successful concert and danco was held in the hall oil Wednesday evening by tho Milson Women’s Institute to enable the Progressive Association to make alterations to the hall. The programme was supplied by the Ford Entertainers under tho direction of Mr J. Selwyn, of Palmerston North. Tho following programme was presented : —Reid’s Accordion Band, orchestral number; Mr Hoctor Bourko (guitar solo and song), “Covered Wagon”; Miss Penkoth, song; Mr Allan Sundborn, guitar solo; Messrs Hutchins and Jeromson, “Thought Readers”; Messrs Morine and Reid (concertina and banjo duets), “Old Faithful” and “Home oil the Range”; Reid’s Band, “Annie Laurie”; Mr Baker, violin eolo; Mr J. Flowers, ventriloquist; Mr Sundborn, guitar solo; Miss Penketb, songs, “When Your Hair Has Turned to Silver” and “Little Man, You’ve Had a Busy Day”; Mr Hector Bourke, guitar solo and song: Messrs Sunborn and Morine, guitars; Mr Voss, humorous items. The accompaniments were playod by Mrs Murphy and Mr Anderson. Mr Selwyn apologised’for the absence of Mr Renwick, their usual pianist, who was unablo to be present. Mrs Murphy, president of the Women’s Institute, thanked Mr Selwyn and the artists for tho programme they had presented, Mr Selwyn replying on behalf of the entertainers Supper was served, after which the floor was cleared for dancing, the music being supplied by Mrs Murphy and Reid’s Accordion Band, an extra being supplied by Miss Jean Benton. Mr Selwyn was M.C. A lucky spot waltz was won by Mr Dymock and Miss Prentice and the Monte Carlo waltz by Mr Hobbs and Miss Juno McKenzie.
