COLYTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) COLYTON, Sept. 10. Miss Myra Smith received a number of young people at her home, “Studleigh,” Colyton, on Friday night when a party was given in honour of Miss Hazel Hocken, the Colyton hockey queen candidate. Dancing was held in tho drawing-room, which had been cleared for tho occasion, and non-dancers spent a pleasant time in tho dining-room winch was prettily decorated with Iceland poppies and maidenhair fern. Musical items by Mesdoincs Coppock and Pearce, Miss J. Gray and Air T. N. Shortall were much enjoyed, and competitions were won bv Misses J. Weallcans and D. Walker, and Messrs N. Williamson and G. Adsett. Miss Smith wore a pretty frock of black lace and taffeta, and Miss Hocken was lrockcd in white regal crepe with tangerine sash. After supper, Mr Keith Viles, on behalf of the guests, convoyed thanks to Air and Airs W. J. Smith and Miss Smith for the happy time spent at their homo.
