LOWER UNIT COSTS.
NATIONAL INCOALE AND FARMERS. AIORRINSVILLE. Aug. 1. Striking figures which lie declared revealed the strenuous efforts made bydairy farmers to keep up the national income by increasing production at lower unit costs, were quoted by Air J. E. Leeson, chairman cf directors of the Alorrinsville Co-pperative Dairy Company, Ltd.,’ at the annual meeting to-day. Air Leeson said that New Zealand exported 44,500 tons of butter and 70.000 tons of cheese for 1922, the produce realising £10,500,000. In 1929 the exports equalled 80.000 tons of butter and 85.000 tons of cheese, the value being £20,375,000. Last year the exports amounted to 137,000 tons of butter and 98.000 tons of cheese, for which only £10,375,000 or £3,963.000 less than the sum received for 70,000 tons of butter and cheese exported in 1929, the peak year, was received.
