GENERAL ELECTION.
PREFERENTIAL VOTING P Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 18. The possibility of nn alteration in the electoral laws before the next election, involving a change to some system of preferential voting, is being freely discussed in political circles. Questioned to-day, the acting-Premier (Sir Alfred Ransom) said that, although the matter had been discussed tentativelv, no concrete proposal had been placed before Cabinet.
