LICENSING POLL.
Per Press Association. ASHBURTON, July 18. A protest against the proposal to take a poll within the old no-license boundary of Ashburton was expressed at a largely attended temperance rally last evening. The meeting resolved that if, in spito of the protest, the special poll suggested be enforced upon Ashburton local no-license votes should be taken in all other electorates in the Dominion at the next and all succeeding elections. The rally was addressed by Rev. J. R. Blanchard, the president of the New Zealand Alliance, and Mr J. Malton Murray, the secretary.
