Tho monthly sitting of tho Foxton Magistrate’s Court was held yesterday. J. P. Everleigh, ehargod with using indecent language m Alain Street on July 1, was fined All with costs 10s. A first offender, charged with being illegally on licensed premises, were fined £1 with costs 10s. Tho following aro tho results of tho competitions playod on the Herrington links: —Silver Grado: Aliss Nancy Robinson 1. Bronze Grade: Aliss Z. Easton 1, Airs Noel Robinson 2, Alias B. Sneirs 3. Junior bogey competition: Airs L. C. Bryant, one up, 1, Aliss J. Alason, 1 down, 2; and Aliss R. Easton, 2 down, 3. At the annual meeting of (ho Foxton Bowling Club Air Jno. Ross presided. In speaking to tho motion for the adoption of tho balance-sheet, Air D. Christie con gratulated the club on tho succoss of tho past year. He regretted, however, that the club’s attempts to hold gala days had not met with success, but tins was mainly due to unfavourable weather. The election of officers resulted :--Prcfiidcnt: Air A. Hinds; vice-president, Air W. Thomas; secretary and treasurer, Air C. Tutty; delegate to centre, Air D. Christie (reelected); green superintendent, Mr R. Hoppner; selector. Air W. Trueman; committee, Messrs ITowe, Woods, Jno. Ross, Titcombo, and Thomson. It was resolved that the Croquet Club bo assisted as in recent yearn. It was agreed that tbo incoming committee bo asked to doilse a system whereby club trophies should bo played for at least one day a week.
