PAHIATUA, July 16. At a special meeting of the Pahiatua Borough Council it was decided that extensive drainage operations should he carried out at the Recreation Ground, tiio estimated cost being £62. Levelling is also to be done and a row of trees along the Huxley Street side will be removed and replaced by lawsonianas. it was also agreed that new conveniences should be erected in the central and Post Office squares, the necessary money to he raised by a loan. Bro. H. A. Gardner, N.G., presided at last night’s meeting of Loyal Mangataiuoka Lodge. Arrangements were made for the ritual competition to he held at Eketahuna on Monday next. The Park Shield competition was continued.
