BRITISH BY-ELECTION.
FORMER MEMBER RETURNED. Received July 17, 1.49 p.m. LONDON, July 16. The AVest Toxteth by-election, caused through the appointment of Mr G. T. AVilson as a Metropolitan Police Alagistrate resulted:— J. Gibbins (Labour) 14,908 Gremlin (Conservative) .:.... 9,465 This is a Labour gain. At the last general election the result was:—G. T. AVilson (Conservative) 20,613, J. Gibbins (Labour) 14,978. Air Gibbins was unseated at that election.
