COURTHOUSE BUILDING.
IMPROVEMENT JIN APPEARANCE. Loocking very fresh and much smarter after receiving a good application of cream paint, the whole of the Palmerston North Courthouse building in Main Street now has a distinctly improved appearance. / Recently extensive alterations to the building were completed, small wings being added on each side. Interior alterations are - now in pi-ogress, including the extension of the corridor, distempering of walls and general renovations. It is understood that there is now a possibility of a new law library and also a Magistrate’s room being added to enlarge the accommodation at the- rear of the building. Meanwhile, adjoining the police station, and at the back of tne Courthouse, good progress is being made with the erection of the new lock-up block.
