PALMERSTON SEAT.

MAYOR’S SERVICES SOUGHT. DEPUTATION BEING ARRANGED. Within a fortnight a large deputation, for which arrangements are now in hand, is to wait upon the Mayor (Mr A. E. Mansford) to seek his consent to nomination as a candidate for the Palmerston seat at the general election this year. Citizens who wish to see him offer his services to the electors in a wider sphere than that of Chief Magistrate are circulating the following petition for presentation to Mr Mansford: “We, the undersigned, earnestly request that you allow yourself to be nominated as a candidate for the Palmerston electorate at the forthcoming general election, and should you consent to accede to our request we agree to do our utmost to secure your election.”
