SALA r ATION ARMY OFFICE. IMPORTANT CHANGE MADE. An important administrative change has been decided upon by the Salvation Army headquarters, in consequence of which the Central Division of the organisation, which has its offices at Palmerston North, is to be abolished for economy reasons, it was learned to-day by a “Standard” representative. The Central Division, which is now to go out of existence, has been established at this centre tor some time, its area extending as far as Gisborne, Taumarunui and New Plymouth. Th» territory formerly controlled from Palmerston North is to be absorbed into the Auckland or AYellington Division, according to geographical situation, when the local office is closed. Brigadier AV. Cottrill, who has been in charge of the Central Division for several years, leaves Palmerston North on Saturday, with Mrs Cottrill and their son, Mr S. Cottrill, prior to embarking on Tuesday for England, where he will receive orders. Meanwhile their daughter, Miss E. Cottrill, will remain in Palmerston North. It is 21 years since Brigadier Cottrill left England, and before coming to New Zealand he served for 16 years in South Africa. , „ , , Major H.
