Mr W. Salt was in the chair and also present were Messrs Conwoll, J. M. and F. Giles, and W. Ward (secretary]. The chairman roported that Miss Kelling was on sick leave and Mr Kendrick was relieving, having taken chargo of the school at the beginning of the week. Mr Kondrick, who was present, reported that with a little more practice the school could field a vory promising football team, and ho undertook to coach them while he was here. It was decided to supply milk and cocoa free to all pupils during the winter. After a considerable discussion as to ways and means of raising funds to complete payment on the piano, it was unanimously decided to hold euchre parties fortnightly in the school. The chairman was given authority to purchase material and a “working-bee” was formed to make sufficient tables and forms. Further meetings will be held to make final arrangements, and the opening night will be advertised later. With the folding doors joining the two large classrooms and two open fires, patrons can be assured of comfortable and pleasant entertainment.

Two vory successful gatherings have been tendered to Miss Edna Mikkclsen recently and the numbers attending, together with the many beautiful and useful presents, testify to file high esteem in which the guest of honour is hold in the district. The first function took the form of a linen afternoon and was organised by (Misses Kathleen and Josephine Mcßrearty. The time was spent in games and competitions, interspersed with musical items by Misses X. Loamy, M. Lynch, M. Diederich and K. Mcßrearty. The guest of honour wore a smart blue ensemble. Among those present were: Mesdames Kcrridgc, J. McManus and J. Burrell. Misses Dora. Maureen and Melda- Mikklcscn, Sybil Thomson, lolene Rutledge, Mary Burke, Phyliris Collins, Mary O’Farrol, Janet Mitchell, Rita Rutledge, Duleie Boddy, Patsy Furlong, Molly Small, Myrtle Edlin, Vera Collins, Marjorie Mitchell, Rona Dwyer, Norah Burke, Monica Murphy, Mona Mitchell, Gwen Parsons, Mario Beal. Monica Lynch, Molly Diederich, Zeta Leamy and Sybil Parsons. Many beautiful presents were received. The second entertainment took the form of a kitchen tea and was organised by the following: Mesdames O'Farrol, Rutledge and Parsons and Misses O’Farrel, Rutledge, Parsons and S. Thompson. The evening was spent in dancing, interspersed with competitions, novelty dances and musical items. The large number of useful presents bore testimony of the popularity of Miss Mikklesen. The stage and hall wore beautifully decorated by friends of the bride-to-be, and together with the beautiful dresses presented an attractive and charming scene. (Miss Mikklesen was called upon to receive the tokens of goodwill and esteem. Mr Kcrridge, on behalf of the future bride, thanked all present tor the many tokens and expressions of goodwill.
