ATTITUDE IN AUCKLAND.

A motion in favour of lifting the embargo on the direct importation of livo stock front Great Britain was defeated by one vote at 1110 annual conference of the Auckland, provincial council of the Agricultural and J’astoral Association. The voting was: For, five; against, six. Six members did not vote. Two members, the president, Mr S. Austin Carr (Auckland), and Mr C. B. Butler (Wbatigarei), explained that, they had voted against the motion in rlteir capacity as delegates of their association, although personally they were in favour of the lifting of the embargo.
