In the amateur golf tournament at St. Anne’s, the results included the following : Sixth round.—Sweeney beat Walker, at the 19th; Lawson Little heat Henriques, 6 and 4; Tweddell beat Fiddian, 1 up; Torrance heat Dykos, at the 19th. In a semi-final Tweddell beat Torrance, 2 and 1. In the other semi-final Little beat Sweeney-, 3 and 2. Little is the first American golfer in two successive years to reach the final in the amateur golf tourney. He will meet Tweddell, the champion of 1927, in a 36-liole final to-morrow. Sweeney held his own against Little for the first nine holes, turning square with a score of 42 to Little’s lorty. Both occasionally found trouble in the difficult wind. Little was 2-up at the 13th which he won by cannoning in off his opponent’s hall. Sweeney mado a had break at the 13tli, missing a four-foot putt. Victory came at the 16th, where Little laid a 100-yard mashie niblick, shot dead, and holed in three. Tweddell and Torrance, both former Walker Cup captains, fought out the other semi-final. Tweddell turned 1 up with 40 to his oppontnt’s 41. Torrance had 3’s at two par four holes, hut a couple of 6’s. The match was squared at the tenth. Then Tweddell settled the issue with 4 3 4 4, even though he lost the I6tlr.
