(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, May 25.

The Rangitikei River rose rapidly oil Thursday afternoon, and was in high flood on Friday, the water surrounding many farm houses in Lower Rangitikei, but farmers had received early warning, and stock was removed to safety before the flood came down. The Tutaonui Stream fell rapidly on Friday, enabling work to be resumed at the dairy factory, attd clearing the highway of surplus water. , The funeral of the late Air William J. Carter was attended by a large and representative cortege on Friday afternoon, the interment taking place in the Clifton cemetery. Rev. T. G. Shulton read the burial service, and the pall-bearers were Messrs J. Homes, A. W. Blanchard, W. Knox, E. ..J. Amon, and J. and C. Timmins.

Messrs A. W. Amon and F. Cutts. J.P.’s, presided at the Bulls Court on Friday morning, when two young men were charged with Theft of articles from dance halls in Bulls and Sandon. In conclusion, the chairman thanked members for their loyal support, and Mr Ralfe complimented the chairman on the able manlier in which he had conducted the meetings.
