Dr Kagawa, the celebrated Japanese author, social and religious leader, whoso recent tour of Australia lias attracted the attention of thousands of people, is now on a brief visit to the Dominion. Dr Kagawa went to Australia in response to an invitation issued by the Council of Churches, and tho campaign in New Zealand is being arranged by the National Council of the Y.M.C.A. Our distinguished visitor is not only looked on as an outstanding man in Japan, but. lie has also tv remarkable international reputation. In addition to being Japan’s most popular writer and religious teacher, he is champion of the poor, being known as the “Saint of the Slums.” His love for the poor, his courageous attempts not only to understand, but also to solve the problems of poverty, his brilliant, writings, his tireless energy in spite of chronic illness mark him as “the most potent phenomena of the Christian world to-day.” Dr Kagawa speaks itt tho Opera House, Friday night. His Worship the Alayor will preside.
