THE SALES TAX.
Per Press Association. WAIPUKURAU, March 12. At a largely-attended meeting of the Chamber ot Commerce a resolution was passed protesting against the continued collection of the sales tax. The growth in the amount was pointed to as seriously affecting spending power. Opposition’ to discrimination between the city and the country rates of relief pay was likewise expressed, hut satisfaction was recorded as to a semi-provincial adjustment of differential rates arising from the now scale.
