DANGER OF FLOODS.
HEAVY RAIN IN NORTH. STOCK BEING REMOVED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 11. Heavy and continuous rain set in at Whangarei on Sunday evening arid fell steadily throughout the night. Steady rain again set in during this afternoon, increasing in intensity until by evening a driving sheet of rain of great intensity was falling. At Clotworthy’s Flat, on the _ road between Whangarei and Onerahi, the ’water was over the road at 9 p.m. and a car that came through then reported that the road would shortly be impassable. At Whakapara the river was bank high to-night, and although there had been no flooding, the indications were that if the rain continued the paddocks and roads would be under •water. - . r,jFarmers in districts liable to flooding have in many cases taken the precaution of removing their stock to the higher levels. Reports from several other districts indicate that serious flooding will occur shortly unless the rain ceases. . ,
